How do I find out more details about my placement?

From mid-June through July, new JET participants will receive a package from their Contracting Organization containing details of their placement. The Contracting Organization may also make available contact information for their current JET participant (your "pre-decessor").

 

If you have any questions or concerns about your placement details, it is best to contact the Contracting Organization directly.

What weight are participant placement requests given?

All requests are considered. Due to the availability of positions in an area, and the varying needs of each Contracting Organization, it is difficult to satisfy every request.

 

Requests are not guaranteed.

My husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/fiance(e) and I requested to be placed together, but we were not. What can we do?

Although the JET Programme tries to place couples in the same area, placement together is not guaranteed.

Can I change the placement I have been assigned?

At no time can you change your placement. Participants must sign a contract with the organization to which their services have been assigned.
