Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival 2022: The Big Picnic

The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival 2022 kicked off with The Big Picnic event at David Lam Park on April 2nd.
Consul General Hatori gave his remarks in the festival opening ceremony and participated in a gift exchange with Councilor Wilson Williams of the Squamish Nation, Christie Charles of the Musqueam Nation, and Councilors Charlene Aleck and Dennis Thomas of the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation.
The cherry blossom trees were blooming around the park and many people enjoyed the booths, the craft experiences, the performances on the stage, and picnics under the blossoms.
The Consulate General of Japan set up a booth and gave out free magazines about Japan and tourism brochures, as well as information about the JET Programme, academic exchanges and more.
