Montroyal Elementary School - Origami (December 07, 2021)
2021/12/7
On Tuesday, December 7, the Consulate's staff and volunteers visited Ms. Erin Vanderkhove’s Gr. 5/6 class of 26 students at Montroyal Elementary School (SD44) for an Origami (折り紙) workshop as part of the 2021-2022‘Touch of Japan’school outreach project.
The Origami topic introduces students to the art of Japanese Washi (和紙) paper and the origins of Origami (折り紙) paper-folding. The history spans many hundreds of years, from ancient to modern times.
The students were very savvy and exceptionally artistic too! We had a wonderful time. A big thank you to Ms. Vanderkhove and her Gr. 5/6 class at Montroyal! Arigatou!
Please contact us at programs@vc.mofa.go.jp if you’d like Touch of Japan to visit your class in the 2021-2022 school year.
