Seymour Heights Elementary School - Origami (January 18, 2022)
2022/1/18
On Tuesday, January 18, the Consulate's staff and volunteers visited Ms. Kathleen Baker’s Gr. 4/5 class of 26 students at Seymour Heights Elementary (SD44) for an Origami (折り紙) workshop as part of the 2022 ‘Touch of Japan’ school outreach project.
The Origami topic introduces students to the art of Japanese Washi (和紙) paper and the origins of Origami (折り紙) paper-folding. The history spans many hundreds of years, from ancient to modern times.
The students were very knowledgeable about Japan and could master the basics of Origami in no time! We had a really great time. A big thank you to Ms. Baker and her Gr. 4/5 class at Seymour Heights! Arigatou!
Please contact us at programs@vc.mofa.go.jp if you’d like Touch of Japan to visit your class in the 2022 school year.
