Consul General Takahashi attends Grand Opening of Tashme Research & Archive Centre and Tashme Kindergarten Schoolhouse (2026/5/3)

On May 3, the Consul General and his spouse attended the Grand Opening of the Tashme Research & Archive Centre and Tashme Kindergarten Schoolhouse, held at the Tashme Museum, which was built on the site of a former Japanese Canadian internment camp. The Consul General also delivered remarks together with Ms. Susanne Tabata, representative of the Japanese Canadian Legacies Society (JCLS), Mayor Smith-Paul, and others, and toured the museum under the guidance of Mr. Ryan Ellan, the museum’s founder and curator.
