Kagamiwari Opening Ceremony
The 10th Sakura Days Japan Fair was held at VanDusen Botanical Garden over the two days of April 13 and 14. Despite the inclement weather on the morning of the first day, by the afternoon, a steady stream of people visited the exhibits, booths and stages. A large number of people took part in the first day’s climatic main event, the Sakura Days Japan Fair Ondo Dance Parade. The second day was blessed with good weather, and lots of people fully enjoyed the outdoor stands, exhibits and performances. The Consulate General of Japan set up a booth on both days and gave out free magazines about Japan and tourism brochures, as well as information about the JET Programme, academic exchanges and more.
