Welcome remarks by Danielle Markewicz (President, JET Alumni Association of BC and Yukon)
A Welcome Back Reception was held for the first time in two years at the residence of the Consul General for Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Programme participants, who completed their contracts and returned to British Columbia in 2020 and 2021.
During the reception, Danielle Markewicz (President, JET Alumni Association of BC and Yukon) and Donald Campbell (Canada Japan Society of British Columbia) welcomed back the participants in attendance. The participants shared some of their accomplishments and fond memories of their time in Japan. The guests were impressed especially by the former participants’ close ties and affection for Japan. Consul General Takashi Hatori conveyed to the returnees his hope that they continue to actively contribute to the advancement of Japan-Canada relations.
