Japanese Canadian Leadership Programme (Applications Open)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan is now accepting applications for the Japanese Canadian Leadership Programme (JCLP) 2026.
The programme provides an opportunity for Nikkei Canadian youth leaders from across Canada to visit Japan and engage with leaders in government, business, academia, culture, and civil society. Through these exchanges, participants gain a deeper understanding of contemporary Japan and explore opportunities to further strengthen Japan–Canada relations.
○Programme Dates:
Sunday, November 29 – Saturday, December 5, 2026
(Pre-departure Orientation: Friday, November 27 – Saturday, November 28)
○Application Deadline:
Friday, July 31, 2026
Interested applicants are encouraged to check the programme overview below for details about eligibility and submission instructions. Applications should be submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission responsible for their area of residence by the deadline. Applicants from British Columbia and Yukon are encouraged to submit their application to the Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver (email: general_vc@vc.mofa.go.jp).
