The Japan Foundation Traveling Exhibit “Japanese Design Today 100” Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony for the Japan Foundation Traveling exhibit “Japanese Design Today 100” was held at Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre (NNMCC) in Burnaby on Saturday, May 7.
First, there were remarks from the NNMCC Director & Curator Sherri Kajiwara as well as President Mr. Herb Ono, followed by special guests Consul General Hatori, MLA Hon. Raj Chouhan, and Mayor of Burnaby Mike Hurley.
The speeches were followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony, a shishimai dance performance by Vancouver’s Rakuichi group, and refreshments. Many guests then enjoyed the exhibition on its first day.
