Activities of Consul General - November 2022

On November 24, Consul General Maruyama paid a courtesy call on Coquitlam Mayor Richard Stewart and had a dialog about strengthening the friendly relationship between Japan and Coquitlam.

On November 23, Consul General Maruyama paid a courtesy call on Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie, and had a dialog about the long-time friendly relationship between Japan and Richmond.

November 21 to 22, Consul General Maruyama visited Victoria. He met with Speaker of the BC Legislative Assembly Hon. Raj Chouhan, Minister of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation Hon. Bruce Ralston, and Victoria Mayor Marianne Alto and discussed ways to strengthen Canada-Japan relationship.

November 21 to 22, Consul General Maruyama visited Victoria. He met with representatives of Royal Roads University and Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society and discussed ideas for promoting Canada-Japan exchanges.

On November 11, 2022, a Remembrance Day service was held at the Japanese Canadian War Memorial in Stanley Park. Along with many people who attended the service, including representatives of the governments of Canada and British Columbia and veterans' families, Consul General Maruyama also laid a wreath to remember the fallen.

On November 8th, Japan Livestock Products Export Promotion Council hosted a Japan Wagyu Beef Round Cuts Seminar in Vancouver, with a detailed briefing and cutting demonstration of Japanese Wagyu by an expert with many local food industry members. Consul General Maruyama gave the opening remarks at the Seminar.
