On July 30th, Consul General Maruyama met with the Hon. Bruce Ralston, Minister of Forests, and the Hon. Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Housing, and exchanged views on strengthening the friendly relationship between Japan and BC.

Consul General meets with Soccer Players Daisuke Nasu (former national team member), Takeru Noda and others 2024.07.22

On July 22, Consul General Maruyama met with the soccer players, Daisuke Nasu, Takeru Noda (Tokyo United FC) and others, who participated in the 43rd Annual Nations Cup Soccer Tournament and the Nikkei Soccer event.

On July 14, Consul General Maruyama attended a sports day event at the Vancouver Japanese School. He delivered congratulatory remarks at the opening ceremony and enjoyed watching the students compete.



Consul General Maruyama attends Symphony in the Park concert and meets local officials in Burnaby 2024.07.13

On July 13, Consul General Maruyama attended the Symphony in the Park outdoor concert in Burnaby featuring the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He met with Mayor Hurley and other officials, including BC MLAs and city councillors, among others.

On July 10th, Consul General Maruyama met with Mr. Yamakoshi Atsushi, and exchanged views on strengthening the relationship between Japan and Canada in various fields.



Consul General meets with shogi player Takada Shohei 2024.07.08

On July 8, Consul General Maruyama met with shogi player (kishi) Takada Shohei, Japan Shogi Association, who is visiting Vancouver and had a conversation, including how to promote Shogi in Canada.

Consul General receives donation for Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief 2024.07.01

On July 1st, Consul General Maruyama received a donation for Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief from Rev. Grant Ikuta, Steveston Buddhist Temple.

On July 1st, Canada Day, Consul General Maruyama attended the Steveston Salmon Festival in Richmond and gave a speech at the opening ceremony. He conversed with various guests including Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie.
