Consul General Maruyama visits Wakayama Prefecture 2023.07.26 

On the 24th and 25th of July, Consul General Maruyama visited Wakayama City, a sister city of Richmond. He had a fruitful discussion with Mayor Obana Masahiro, exploring the topic of international exchange between sister cities. Before the visit, Consul General Maruyama had a meeting with Vice Governor Shimo Hiroshi at the Wakayama Prefectural Government. He also took the opportunity to visit the Canada Museum in Mihama Town, Wakayama Prefecture, where he met with Mayor of Mihama Town, Yabuuchi Miwako, and the Museum Director, Mio Takae.

Consul General welcomed a visit by Mayor of Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture 2023.07.12

On July 12, Consul General Maruyama received a delegation from Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture, including Mayor Ishiguro Naoki, and had a conversation on regional exchanges with British Columbia. Kasugai is a sister city with Kelowna.


Consul General attends LNG 2023 2023.07.10

On July 10th, Consul General Maruyama had the opportunity to attend the international LNG conference, LNG 2023. While there, he engaged in a meaningful dialogue with representatives from indigenous communities to explore potential future partnerships.

 
 

Consul General Maruyama attends the Multicultural Drum Festival 2023.07.08

On July 8th, Consul General Maruyama attended the Multicultural Drum Festival in Burnaby, which featured a Japanese drum team. He conversed with various guests including representatives from the federal, and BC provincial governments, as well as city councillors from Burnaby.



Consul General Maruyama meets with Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim 2023.07.05 

On July 5th, Consul General Maruyama invited Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim and Ms. Teena Gupta and had a conversation on a variety of issues, including strengthening the relationship between Japan and Vancouver.
