Consul General Maruyama meets with Premier Eby and Dr. Cailey Lynch 2023.04.28
On April 28, Consul General Maruyama invited the Hon. David Eby, Premier of British Columbia and Dr. Cailey Lynch, together with former Ambassadors of Canada to Japan, Mr. Donald Campbell and Mr. Joseph Caron, and had a conversation on strengthening the relationship between Japan and British Columbia.

Consul General Maruyama visited Kamloops and Kelowna 2023.04.21
On April 21, the Consul General visited Kamloops and Kelowna, BC, and paid a courtesy call on Kamloops Mayor Hamer-Jackson and Kelowna Mayor Tom Dyas respectively, and had a dialog on strengthening the friendly relationship with Japan. Kamloops is a sister city of Uji City, Kyoto and Kelowna is a sister city of Kasugai City, Aichi.

On April 15th, Consul General Maruyama attended the opening ceremony of the Sakura Days Japan Fair at VanDusen Botanical Garden.

Consul General Maruyama visited the University of British Columbia 2023.04.13
On April 13, Consul General Maruyama visited the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia and exchanged views with Dr. Sharalyn Orbaugh, Department Head, Dr. Joshua Mostow and other faculty members. The Consul General also visited the Asian Library and Nitobe Memorial Garden on campus.

On April 13, Consul General Maruyama invited Ms. Ikuyo Nakamichi, pianist, and Mr. Noboru Watanabe, Chairman and CEO of Riviera Co., Ltd., who are currently visiting Vancouver together with Mr. Akira Nagai, Associate Concertmaster Emeritus of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Mr. Ken Hsieh, Maestro of the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and had a conversation on international cultural exchanges and other topics.
