Consul General attends “2026 Mochitsuki Shinnen Kai” in Victoria (2026/1/11)

On January 11, Consul General Takahashi attended “2026 Mochitsuki Shinnen Kai,” a new year’s celebration party held in Victoria, co-organized by the Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society (VNCS), the Victoria Japanese Friendship Society (VJFS), and the Victoria Japanese Heritage Language School.
At the event, the Consul General gave New Year's greetings, enjoyed Mochitsuki (“making mochi rice cakes”) as well as performances such as Yosakoi dancing, and met with organizers as well as the Honorary Consul General of Japan in Victoria.
