Consul General and Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Cocchia visit a Japanese sake maker (2026/2/18)

On February 18, Consul General Takahashi guided the Honourable Wendy Cocchia, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, and his Honour Sergio Cocchia on a tour of Artisan Sake Maker, a Japanese sake producer located on Granville Island in Vancouver. The company uses Japanese rice grown at its own rice field in Abbotsford to brew sake in its factory on Granville Island. The delegation received an explanation of the sake brewing process from President Masa Shiraki, toured the brewing facilities, participated in a sake tasting, and deepened their understanding of Japanese sake.
