On June 23, Consul-General Takahashi attended a memorial service marking the 41st anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 bombing and the Narita Airport baggage explosion, both of which occurred on June 23, 1985. The bombing of Air India Flight 182 claimed the lives of 329 people, while a bomb intended for the same operation detonated during baggage handling at Narita Airport on the same day, killing two baggage handlers.
 
The Consul-General attended the memorial service alongside Minister Adrian Dix, former MLA Dave Hayer, MLA Sunita Dhir, Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim, and the Consuls General of India and Ireland, where they paid tribute to the victims and observed a moment of silence.
