2026 Spring Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals

 
　　On April 29, 2026, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of the 2026 Spring Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals. In British Columbia, decorations are awarded to Mr. Henry Hiroshi Wakabayashi and Mr. Eric Thomas Sherlock.
　　Mr. Wakabayashi, former Vice Chair of the Vancouver Japanese Canadian Redress Committee, is awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contribution to “improving the social status of Japanese Canadians and promoting friendship between Japan and Canada.”
　　Mr. Sherlock, former local employee, Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver, is awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold and Silver Rays for his contribution to “activities of the Japanese overseas establishment.”
