On August 1, Consul General Takahashi hosted a Send-off Reception for 48 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme participants departing from Vancouver.
 
The majority of the B.C. JETs (44) will act as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) engaging in English language education in elementary, junior and senior high schools.  Four participants will work as a Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) assisting local governments with their international activities. This year’s participants will be located in areas throughout Japan, from Hokkaido to Kyushu.
