Welcome remarks by Danielle Markewicz (President, JET Alumni Association of BC and Yukon)
On February 28, 2024, the Consul General held a reception in honour of JET Programme participants who had returned to British Columbia and Yukon in 2023 after finishing their tenure in Japan.
During the reception, Danielle Markewicz (President, JET Alumni Association of BC and Yukon) and Former Ambassador to Japan, Donald Campbell (President, Canada Japan Society of British Columbia) welcomed back the participants in attendance. The participants shared some of their most memorable experiences of their time in Japan. The guests were especially impressed by the former participants’ close ties and affection for Japan. Consul General Maruyama conveyed his hope that the returning JET Programme participants will continue to actively cultivate Japan-Canada relations.
