A report on the High School Students Summit on “World Tsunami Awareness Day” 2018, which was held in Wakayama from October 31st to November 1st, was published. (Link to the report is as follows)
48 countries including Japan attended the summit (134 students from Japan, 244 students from overseas). 5 students from Alberni District Secondary School were among them representing Canada.
High school students learned about the history of tsunami in Japan as well as disaster prevention through study tours and discussions.
