Consul General Okai Visits Mr. Andrew Adams, Mayor of the City of Campbell River

On March 1st, Consul General Okai visited the City of Campbell River on the east coast of Vancouver Island, guided by Japan enthusiast Mayor Andrew Adams. The City of Campbell River and the City of Ishikari, Hokkaido have been sister cities since 1983 with active student and citizen exchanges. Mayor Adams will lead a delegation to visit Japan this March. Consul General Okai discussed various topics for promoting the relationship between Japan and British Columbia with Mayor Adams and the city management team, Chief Robert Pollard of Wei Wai Kum, the Superintendent of School District 72, the President and members of Campbell River Twinning Society, and some students and parents participating in the exchange program.
