Consul General Visits Mayor of New Westminster

On November 1^st, Consul General Okai paid a visit to Mr. Jonathan Coté, Mayor of New Westminster.  The City of New Westminster and the City of Moriguchi in Osaka have been Sister Cities since 1963, making them the oldest relationship between BC and Japan.  Coincidentally, on the same day, some Councilors from New Westminster were visiting Moriguchi to celebrate the opening of new City Hall building.  As such, both cities have maintained an active and long-term friendship over the years. Consul General and Mayor discussed about among other topics the promotion of economic relationship, cooperation in disaster management and educational exchange.
