Reception for Japan National Women’s Softball Team

On July 25^th, a reception was held at the Consul General’s residence for Japan national women’s softball team.  Earlier, the team played at the WBSC XV Women’s World Softball Championship in Surrey from July 15 to July 24.  Japan took second in this year’s championship.  Supporters and members of the media joined the reception to honor the players and staff of the Japan team.  Japan is set to play again in the world championship at Chiba, Japan in 2018, as a lead up to 2020 Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, since softball is added to the list of sporting events.
