The Women’s National Softball Team of Japan is coming to Canada!

From July 16th to July 24th, the 2016 WBSC XV Women’s World Softball Championship will be held in Surrey. The Women’s National Team of Japan will head to Softball City, Surrey, as the two-time defending world champion. Let’s get together to support Team JAPAN!

Preliminary Round Game 1 : July 16th (Sat.) starts at 5:00pm Japan vs Venezuela
Preliminary Round Game 2 : July 17th (Sun) starts at 5:30pm Japan vs France

Consulate General of Japan supports Team JAPAN!
31 nations are participating in this championship. To celebrate this Championship, from July 16th to July 21st, the organizing committee will hold a free admission event - “Celebration of Nations” in which each country showcases its culture to the public. Japan will have an information booth where visitors are welcome to come and learn about the Japanese culture on Sunday July 17th and July 24th. There will be Japanese handheld flags, Japanese traditional costumes, toys, Niponica magazines, travel information and much more.
At the Celebration of Nations, Japanese Taiko groups will deliver exciting performances.
July 17th, at 4:00pm performance by Okinawa Taiko
July 24th, at 4:30pm performance by Tetsu Taiko
You can find Japan’s information booth and the performance stage on the right hand side as you enter the event from 146th Street.
