The 28th Annual B.C. Japanese Speech Contest

The 28th Annual B.C. Japanese Speech Contest was held at Simon Fraser University on Saturday, March 5th by the B.C. Japanese Speech Contest Organizing Committee in collaboration with the Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver.
 
This year 39 contestants from different parts of B.C. were selected to compete at the contest. Audiences of about a hundred, included families, friends, teachers and learners of the Japanese language, came to cheer on the contestants.
 
Teachers and judges commented the calibre of the speeches was very high this year and they were proud of the success of the students. All contestants received participation prizes; winners received special prizes from sponsors and organizers for their achievements.
 
First place winners in the university/public division will go on to compete in the nationals on March 19 in Toronto.
