The MEXT Scholarship Alumni Association held its Annual General Meeting at the Consulate General of Japan on February 23.

Ten alumni met to discuss the direction of the association’s activities for the upcoming year, as it continues to raise its profile and grow. The association consists of former students, who studied at universities in Japan, through grants or scholarships offered by the Government of Japan.  Also in attendance were two 2016 MEXT Scholarship recipients, who will be leaving in early April to commence their studies. Following the AGM, a small reception was held.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of the Government of Japan offers Undergraduate, Japanese Studies and Research Student Scholarships to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese universities. Students study in a variety of fields, including Arts, Social Sciences, Science and others.
