2015 JET Programme Welcome Back Reception
On Thursday, November 5th, a Welcome Back Reception was held at the Consul General’s official residence for the Japan Exchange & Teaching (JET) Programme participants, who returned to British Columbia in 2015.
This year’s returning participants were placed in many areas of Japan, from Okinawa to Hokkaido, and stayed from one to five years. They shared their most memorable moments in Japan, including interactions with students and local residents in the communities where they lived and worked. Their stories highlighted their role as a bridge between Japan and Canada at the local level.
Members from the JET Alumni Association of BC (JETAABC) joined the reception. Representatives of Japan-related organizations, B.C. universities and the provincial government were also present.
