Ceremony for the Order of the Rising Sun held for Ms. TSUDA Saeko (President of Vancouver Shinpo)

  On October 22, a ceremony to formally confer the decoration of the Order of the Rising Sun on Ms. TSUDA Saeko, President of Vancouver Shinpo, was held at the residence of the Consul General of Japan. The Government of Japan announced the conferring of the Order of the Rising Sun on Ms. Tsuda in recognition of her leading role in establishing Vancouver Shinpo, a publication that has contributed to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Canada since 1978 – for over forty years. At the ceremony, Consul General Hatori conferred the decoration and certificate of the Order upon Ms. Tsuda on behalf of the Government of Japan.
