Awarding the Consul General’s Commendation to Ms. Cathy Makihara, Steering Committee Chair of the Japanese Canadian Survivors Health & Wellness Fund of the Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society

On March 29, Ms. Cathy Makihara received the Commendation Award of the Consul General of Japan at the official residence of the Consul General of Japan in Vancouver.
Ms. Makihara has held important positions such as Executive Director of the Nikkei Health Care & Housing Society, Executive Director and President of the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, and Steering Committee Chair of the Japanese Canadian Survivors Health & Wellness Fund (Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society), thereby contributing significantly to deepening Japan-Canada relations and developing the Japanese Canadian Community.
Consular General Hatori presented Ms. Makihara with the Certificate, expressing his respect and gratitude for her significant achievements in the promotion of understanding between Japan and Canada.
