The Embassy of Japan has unveiled the logo for the 80th Anniversary
of diplomatic relations between Japan and Canada which will be celebrated
in 2008.
Designed by Japanese artist Mr. Mitsugi Kikuchi, who resides in Ottawa,
the logo represents the Canadian and Japanese flags with the changing
seasons represented in the changing colour of the maple leaf.
The logo will be used to identify projects and events which will
take place as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations.
If you have an idea for an 80th anniversary event or project, contact the Embassy of Japan or the appropriate Consulate General of Japan in the location where you would like to hold the event. Use this event form (Word Doc).

Conditions for the use of the logo
Your project(s) or event(s) will be recognized as part of the 80th
anniversary events provided that the following conditions are met:
- Event(s) will be held, in principle, between April, 2008 and
March, 2009
- They fit the main goal of promoting understanding of each other's
country and strengthening the relationship between both countries
- They have clear contents and a strong possibility of being realised
- They do not promote specific opinions and policies or propoganda
- They do not promote religious, political or election activities
- They will not be damaging to the public order and public rules
