Two British Columbians Awarded Japan’s Prestigious Order of the Rising Sun
On April 29th, 2010, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of its Spring Decorations. In British Columbia, Mr. Jonathan Takeo Yokoyama, former President of the British Columbia Japanese Language Teachers Association, is awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contribution to the promotion of Japanese language education in Canada and Mr. Robert Koji Nimi, President of Nikkei Seniors Health Care & Housing Society, is awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contribution to the social welfare of the Japanese Canadian community.
A conferment ceremony will be held on May 21st, in Vancouver.
