Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY 2010

On July 14th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced the recipients of the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY 2010. In British Columbia, psychiatrist, Dr. Michiaki Horie and Tonari Gumi, also known as the Japanese Community Volunteers Association, have been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for their contribution to supporting Japanese nationals living in Canada.

Many people, working in various international fields, have been contributing to the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and other countries. The commendations aim to recognize the outstanding achievements of those individuals and groups. A ceremony for commendations will be held in early August in Vancouver.
