Ai has been looking for her daughter Miwa who disappeared 24 years ago. One day she encounters a woman in possession of Miwa’s maternity passbook, but she is afflicted by amnesia. Ai is unable to judge whether the woman is her daughter or not.

 

This movie was screened specially for the Cannes International Film Festival. (129 min. Japanese with English subtitles)

At 9:00 p.m. The Stars Converge
Ikuko is an entrant in a track and field meet being held as a goodwill event with South Korean sister city Pusan. There she meets and falls in love with South Korean boy, a fellow high jump competitor. A year later on the day of the Tanabata festival (known as “Chirusoku” in Korean), the young lovers are reunited and vow to meet again.
