Recruitment of Local Staff for Consulate General of Japan

The Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver is recruiting a driver / administration staff. Anyone who is eligible is welcome to apply sending his/her curriculum-vitae (one English language copy and one Japanese language rirekisho), along with telephone and e-mail contacts, and a mailing address to the below address not later than June 20 Friday, 2008.

1.  Position

The post is a driver / administrative staff for the Administrative Section of the Consulate.

2.  Terms of Employment

1. Employment Period: The initial period will 2 years from July 29, 2008 to July 29, 2010.
2. Renewal of Employment: On completion of the first 2 years, the contract may be renewed every 2 years upon mutual agreement.
3. Probation Period: 3 months.
4. Basic Working Hours: Mon. – Fri.  (5 days a week) 9a.m. through 5p.m.
5. Salary: To be decided based on qualifications and experience.
6. Benefits: CPP, Medical Insurance, etc.

3.  Basic Requirements

1. Person with safe and sound driving skills, who is mature and thoughtful in nature (A clean driving record with no accidents or traffic violations may be given preference).
2. Fluent in both Japanese and English languages
3. Canadian citizen or permanent resident

4.  Selection Process

After the initial document screening, short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview (in Japanese and English languages) and a driving test.
