Temporary Staff Employment Opportunity
The Consulate General of Japan in Vancouver is recruiting for one
temporary staff member to work in the Culture and Public Information
Section who meets the qualifications below. Interested persons are
requested to submit their curriculum-vitae (one English language copy
and one Japanese language rirekisho), along with telephone and e-mail
contact information, a mailing address, on or before September
18, 2007.
Note that the Consulate will neither confirm the receipt of any application
nor return any documents.
- Outline of Position
The employment is for a position in the Culture and Public Information
Section and involves handling JET program, scholarship applications,
public information and introducing the culture of Japan, among other
duties.
- Term of Employment
- Working Term: From November 1, 2007 to January 25, 2008
- Working Hours: 2 days or 3 days a week (9 a.m. through 5 p.m.)
- Salary: To be decided based on education and work experience.
- Qualifications
- Applicants are required to meet all the following conditions:
- Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Have a high level of speaking and writing ability in English
(Japanese language ability will be an asset)
- Be able to write letters and documents in English
- Have a passable knowledge of website maintenance using Dreamweaver

- Be able to operate Word, Excel, Access etc.or have database
experience
- Have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
- Selection Process
After the initial screening of documents, each successful candidate
will be contacted individually regarding the possibility of an examination
(Japanese and English) and an interview in late September.
