At the beginning of the receptions, Consul General Okada expressed his gratitude for the support shown to him by individuals and groups since his arrival to the post last year.  In his New Year’s speech, Consul General announced his motto for the year: “On-ko-chi-shin” (discover the new by learning from the past) and expressed his determination in undertaking a variety of projects including the events to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Consulate in Vancouver.

At the parties, guests enjoyed Sake, which has been gaining high popularity here in British Columbia, along with Japanese new year cuisine.
