Send Off Reception for KIZUNA Project Participants
On Wednesday February 27th, a Send Off Reception was held at the official residence for the twenty seven students from West Vancouver Secondary School, who will visit Japan as participants of “Kizuna Project”, a youth exchange program for Japan’s recovery after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Consul General Okada explained the current recovery situation in Japan and the area affected by the earthquake and tsunami followed by a lively question period in which the students and parents asked questions about the current situation surrounding the people affected by the earthquake and tsunami as well as the future recovery plan for the area and people there.
After speeches by two student representatives, all the project participants sang “Hana wa saku”, a symbolic theme song for Japan’s recovery from the Earthquake.
