Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo

A performance of the Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo was held by the Consulate General of Japan and the Japan Foundation on May 1st, at 7:30pm at the Orpheum Annex. The performance was enjoyed by approximately 150 people.

A workshop and demonstration on Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo was held at the University of Victoria on May 2nd, at 7:30pm. This event was very well attended with around 220 people. The audience enjoyed the lecture and the demonstration.

A workshop and demonstration on Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo was held at the Asian Centre Auditorim at the University of British Columbia on May 3rd, at 7pm. The origami cranes on strings, shown in the photos below, were given to the Consulate by different elementary schools in BC for the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake last year.
