Reception for the 79th Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan

 

On Monday December 3rd, a reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty The Emperor was held at the Marriott Vancouver Pinnacle Downtown Hotel. Approximately 440 guests attended, including delegates from the federal, provincial, and municipal governments, as well as those from Japan and Japan-related organizations in the fields of business, education and culture.

 

This year, there was a cultural display with an ikebana flower arrangement, along with performances by koto and shakuhachi musicians and the Vancity Nanchu Soran Dancers. Guests also enjoyed Japanese sake, tea and cuisine.
