2011 New Year’s Reception

On Friday January 21, the Consulate General of Japan hosted a New Year’s Reception at the Consul General’s official residence.  Approximately 70 representatives from local Japanese Canadian businesses and community organizations attended the event to celebrate the beginning of 2011.  The reception started with the Consul General Ito’s speech followed by a toast.  In his new year's speech, Consul General Ito expressed his hope that the Year of the Rabbit would bring a stronger relationship for Japan and Canada, especially between British Columbia and Yukon.
