Lecture by Hon. Stockwell Day, Former Minister of International Trade of Canada

On November 3rd, the Consulate General of Japan hosted a seminar by Honourable Stockwell Day, who is a distinguished fellow of the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and a former Minister of International Trade of Canada. The seminar provided an update on the current recovery state of Japan from the disaster and the Fukushima nuclear exploration and informed the public on the safety of Japanese products,

Mr. Day visited Japan at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in early October. After his trip, he held discussions with high ranking government representatives, experts, economic organizations, and others. He also went to visit the affected areas in Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures, and observed the current state of Japan. Upon his return from Japan, Mr. Day agreed to give a seminar to deliver a report on the reality in Japan. His lecture sent a strong message that emphasized Japan is safe and open for business and tourism.
